Another national branch sports association became a partner of the Faculty of Sport of the University “Union – Nikola Tesla”. It’s about the Kayak Association of Serbia, which is one year away from 11 medals in the senior, five in junior and eight won medals in the cadet competition, one of the most successful sports teams in Serbia.
The signatories of the cooperation agreement, which will enable the permanent professional training of sports professionals, the control of the training of athletes, the organization of professional and educational camps, were the President of the Kayak Association of Serbia, Mr. Mirko Nišović and the Dean of the Faculty of Sports professor Ivanka Gajić, PhD.
“It’s a great pleasure for us at our faculty to be able to host big champions. Mirko Nišović is the winner of the gold and silver medals at the Olympic Games and the triple world champion, and now he is also a very successful manager, as the best results of our kayakers are best shown on the international scene in recent years. I am very happy that we have achieved this agreement on mutual satisfaction, on the basis of which we will be able, from our domain, to try to improve as much as possible the work of the Kayak Association of Serbia – proudly pointed out Dean Gajić.
It is interesting to note that the students of our faculty are successful kayakers Marko Novaković, silver and bronze winner at this year’s European and World Championship and Stefan Vekić, silver from the World Championship:
– The most successful people go with the most successful ones, so I think that this cooperation is a natural trail of things. Because of all the people working at faculty, reputable professors and successful sports workers, but also very positive experiences of many other sports federations with the Faculty of Sport, we wanted to become part of this story. The Faculty of Sport has already been recognized by our successful competitors, Marko Novaković and Stefan Vekić who are your students, and I am sure that this cooperation will bring mutual benefit – said Mirko Nišović, president of the Kayak Association of Serbia.
